
The saint-poets were the ones who composed lyrical poems which were to be sung during the rituals. It consists of words to be sung in a fast beat, also known regionally as druta tala. Odia music comprises all the necessary elements which are similar to Hindustani and Karnataki music. The traveling bards are known to be an important part of the history of the country’s heritage.
